Ingredients:-
Vermicelli (Semiya): 1 cup
Curd: 2 cups (whisked)
Milk: ½ cup (prevents the curd from turning sour)
Garnish: Pomegranate seeds & fresh coriander leaves
For Tempering (Tadka): Oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilies, ginger pieces, curry leaves, dried red chilies, peanuts or cashews.
Preparation Method:-
Boiling the Semiya: Bring water to a boil, add a little salt and oil, and cook the vermicelli until soft. Once cooked, rinse with cold water and set aside.
Mixing: In a bowl, whisk the curd, milk, and salt together. Add the cooked vermicelli and mix well without any lumps.
Tempering: Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, peanuts, green chilies, ginger, and curry leaves. Sauté until golden and fragrant.
Garnishing: Add this tempering to the vermicelli mixture. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and finely chopped coriander leaves.
Important Tips:
Ensure the vermicelli is cooked until just tender (al dente) and not mushy for a better
To make it extra delicious for kids, fry the cashews in ghee instead of oil.
